Welcome to the website of David Rhys-Johnson and Red Man Music. Through this website I will be sharing with you a glimpse of me and my life-long love of music and the passion of my life, the piano. This will include original compositions as well as a variety of music that has impacted my life. In addition, I am honored to introduce piano compositions by my multi-talented son Matthew Johnson.

David Rhys-Johnson performs an Independence Day concert at 1:30pm in the Frank Tobey Jones Retirement Community in Tacoma, Washington.

• June 26th Ketchikan Alaska - Matt Perri and Molly Berntson wedding info on the 2010 Alaska tour: David starts his 2nd "Inland Passage" Alaskan tour in Sitka then a 12 hour ferry to Petersburg and finally another 11 hour ferry ride to Ketchikan.

David Rhys-Johnson returns to Esalen during the Joseph Campbell workshop for a period of learning and performances.

David Rhys-Johnson performs in a house concert with his sons Matthew and Aaron Johnson. Performances from other artists including winds by Fred Lamotte, vocals by Ann Stockdale and a trumpet performance by a surprise artist.

David Rhys-Johnson returns with vocalist Kate Vikstrom for an encore performance at the Panorama City Retirement Community.

David Rhys-Johnson directs a merriful holiday concert at the Center for Spiritual Awakening in Olympia.

David Rhys-Johnson joins winds expert Fred Lamotte and vocalist Kate Vikstrom at the Panorama City Retirement Community Performing Arts Center in what is sure to be a thrilling and entertaining Thanksgiving Day performance.

David Rhys-Johnson will be making a musical tour through Alaska!

David's first performance is at the world-famous Red Dog Saloon. Dancing and entertainment has been an integral part of this saloon since it's inception in the Alaska gold rush days. The first performer, "Ragtime Hattie" played the piano in white gloves and a silver dollar Halter top. You might not see David in the same attire, but you'll still get to hear some phenomenal music. David will be in the Saloon on either June 20th or 21st.

The next stop is at the Sitka Presbyterian Church on June 22nd at 7:00 pm. Entry cost is donation only, and a wide variety of David's classics will be played in what is sure to be an entertaining evening.

David finishes off the last leg of his tour in Ketchikan, Alaska. There are currently no announced concerts here but stay tuned to the site for any updates!

David Rhys-Johnson unveils two new albums this month - "Father, Son Esalen Moon" and "Family and Friends"!

"Father, Son Esalen Moon" is a joint compilation album, containing original music composed by David Rhys-Johnson and his son Matthew Tavis Johnson. This is David's first joint compilation, and it turned out beautifully. Sample tracks will soon be available on the projects page, and the CD will also be available shortly on CD Baby.

"Family and Friends" is another album containing David's original work - work inspired by or composed for the many special people (and animals!) in David's life. This will also soon be available shortly.

The Olympia Sacred Music Festival is "a celebration of the sacred through the uplifting music & dance of the world."

It's being held at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts South Puget Sound Community College, Olympia.

David will be found performing with special guest vocalist and soloist LaVon Hardison!

David will once again be joining the elite collection of artists at the Joseph Cambpell Mythological Toolbox retreat at the Esalen Institute. Set in the beautiful and serene California coastal mountains, the Esalen institute is world-renowned for its relaxing and inspiring setting.

LEARN ABOUT: At Play in the Fields of the Lord – A Mythological Toolbox
Orchestrated by Foundation president Bob Walter, joined by Chungliang Al Huang, Caldecott Award winning author & artist Gerald McDermott, playwright-novelist Lynne Kaufman, musician David Rhys-Johnson, and other special guests.

Internationally renowned artist and sculptor Doug Granum is hosting his annual end of summer bash. David will be performing with the young musical prodigy Nevis Granum. Also scheduled to attend are Ikea owner Anders Berglund and Bill & Gail Weyerhauser.

David and numerous other talented musicians perform in a benefit concert for the Unity Center of Tacoma!

David and many other artists from around Olympia gather downtown for a night in celebration of art and music.

David completed his yearly pilgrimage to Esalen institute, a gorgeous retreat in Big Sur California. Esalen allows David to spend time with a wide variety of people as well as to further his lifelong quest to enhance his own spirituality.
